We’ve been all-in on distributed work from day one—so we’ll never require in-person instruction. Interviews and onboarding are conducted 100% virtually. Here’s what to expect.

How do I apply for a job with Live English?

How can I prepare for my virtual interview with Live English?
We’ve outlined a few tips to help you prepare. While these may seem trivial, they are essential to setting yourself up for success:

  • Your interview will be conducted over Google Meet. We’re a globally distributed team, so we can accommodate any time zone to fit your schedule. Please double-check the invitation to confirm the time in your local time zone.
  • Choose a quiet, well-lit environment where you feel comfortable and free of distractions so we can focus entirely on our conversation.
  • Use a compatible device and close unnecessary browser tabs or apps. Ensure your device meets our 2026 requirements: iOS 16+, Android 14+, macOS 14+ (Sonoma), or Windows 11+.
  • Confirm your internet connection is stable and test your audio and webcam. Use a headset or earphones with a microphone for the best sound quality. A standard pair of earbuds works perfectly. Position your camera so you are centered on the screen; if you wear glasses, adjust your lighting to reduce glare.
  • Keep a copy of your resume and any notes or questions for the interviewer handy.
  • And above all, remember to relax—you’ve got this!
How long does the hiring process take?
Every day, we work diligently to create a seamless candidate experience. Our hiring process can last about three weeks from application to offer, because we care deeply about getting it right. While we strive to provide updates within this timeframe, some circumstances may require additional time. Rest assured, we’ll keep you in the loop at every step.
Can I reapply if I’m not selected?
Most definitely! We’re always excited to see how candidates grow. You can reapply after six months, or sooner if there has been a material change in your experience or skillset.
What is the expected work commitment with Live English?
Live English requires a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. There is no upper limit so you can work as many hours as your schedule allows. This flexibility enables you to adjust your workload to fit your personal life, giving you full control over your hours. We prioritize supporting our instructors’ health and well-being while providing opportunities to increase your earnings based on the number of lessons you conduct.
How do you communicate with everyone working remotely?
With teammates located on almost every continent and across time zones worldwide, we primarily rely on virtual meetings and asynchronous communication through our robust Live Experience Platform (LXP). We’ve also implemented regular touchpoints to check in with one another, ensuring you receive the connection and guidance you need. Ultimately, as a trusted teammate, we’ll give you both the support and autonomy you need to thrive and do some of the most meaningful work of your career.
